Project Presentation

The aim of our environmentally friendly school project is to raise an environmentally conscious generation. With this project, we aim to increase environmental awareness in students, protect nature, save energy, acquire recycling habits and adopt sustainable lifestyles. In our environmentally friendly schools, we will use energy and water resources efficiently, reduce the amount of waste, and contribute to the education of students as individuals with high ecological awareness who are in touch with nature. By organizing various trainings and events in line with these purposes, we will ensure that students become individuals who are sensitive to environmental problems and produce solutions.

GOALS AND OBJECTİVES

The goal of our environmentally friendly school project is to instill environmental awareness in students, teachers and all school employees and to make them adopt the necessary behaviors for a sustainable future. This goal will be supported by various applications

* Sustainability: Reducing waste and protecting natural resources by using all resources of the school (energy, water, paper, etc.) effectively.

 * Environmental Awareness: To provide education to students about the importance of nature, environmental problems and solutions.

 * Participation: Ensuring the active participation of the entire school in environmental protection activities.

 * Being an example: To be an example to the society regarding the environment and to popularize environmentally friendly practices.
* Zero Waste: Encouraging recycling and instilling waste separation habits by minimizing the amount of waste produced at school.

 * Energy Efficiency: Reducing energy consumption by taking energy efficiency measures in school buildings.

 * Green Areas: Increasing green areas in the school garden and protecting biodiversity.

* Nature walks and environmental cleaning activities: To ensure that students are in contact with nature and to increase their environmental awareness.

* Increasing academic success of students

* Improving digital skills.

 * Development of students' social skills

 * Increasing the reputation of the school

 * Being an example to society

 * Protection of natural resources

 * Leaving a livable world to future generations

 * Increasing intercultural interaction

As a result, being an environmentally friendly school is not just a goal but also a way of life. Students who grow up with environmental awareness will contribute to society as more conscious and responsible individuals in the future.

CURRİCULUM AND CROSS-CURRİCULAR İNTEGRATİON

* Science: Topics such as recycling, waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency can be reinforced with experiments and observations.

* Social Studies: Historical and social dimensions of environmental problems can be examined, and different cultures' approaches to the environment can be compared.

* Mathematics: Environmental data can be analyzed, and mathematical models can be created for sustainable development goals.

* Language: Texts on the environment can be read, and students can express their thoughts through writing and speaking activities.

* Visual Arts: Works of art can be created using recycled materials, and posters on the environment can be designed.

Integration Between Curricula

By bringing different disciplines together, learning becomes more meaningful and permanent knowledge is acquired.

 * Science and Turkish: Students can present the data they obtain as a result of their experiments in a report.

* Social Studies and Visual Arts: They can research projects on environmental problems in different countries and prepare posters.

* Mathematics and Science: They can create graphs and tables by examining the variety of plants in a school garden. Project Examples

* School Garden Project: Students are allowed to consume their own vegetables and fruits, understand the natural cycle, and gain healthy eating habits.

* Recycling Club: The aim is for students to develop environmental awareness by participating in activities such as waste separation and creating new products from recycled materials.

* Energy Saving Project: Various measures are taken to reduce energy consumption at school and students' awareness is increased on this subject. Tips for Project Success

* Teacher Training: It is important for teachers to develop their knowledge and skills on the environment.

* Student Participation: Students are encouraged to take an active role in projects and are included in decision-making processes.

* Parent Collaboration: It is important to inform parents about the projects and get their support.

* Support from School Management: The school management must provide resources for the project and prepare the necessary environment.

* Community Relations: The aim is to spread environmental awareness by cooperating with the community where the school is located. As a result, environmentally friendly school projects contribute significantly to the development of students as environmentally sensitive, responsible and conscious individuals through the effective use of the curriculum and integration between different disciplines.
